Description:

ABOUT
=======
This is a fork of the popular icon theme Faenza with up to date app icons. It will stay optically close to the original Faenza icons, which haven't been updated for some years. The new app icons are ported from the Obsidian icon theme (https://www.opendesktop.org/p/1169579).
The theme was named after a dutch city, which is known for its history, its beauty, and - like Faenza in Italy - its pottery.

USAGE
=======
The project is hosted on Github. You can download it, fork it, build packages for your distribution... do whatever you like.

UPDATES
=========
I'll try to update this project constantly on Github. Once a month I'll post a release (zip / tar-file) to opendesktop.org bringing the latest changes.

SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME
================================
Is there an icon you miss, a bug you have found, or do you have a better idea for an existing icon, just let me know in a comment. Suggestions for single icons are very welcome for further development! I cannot guarantee implementing every suggestion, but as long as they are fitting to the rest of the icon pack (and I do like them by myself ;-) ) there is no problem.
In case you want to report a bug, please also mention your desktop and distribution.

Enjoy! :-)

Great theme - how can i change the menu icon from Ubuntu?

Hi, the Ubuntu menu icon (3x3 dots) cannot be changed via icon pack, afaik. You need a Gnome-Shell-theme which overrides the menu icon.

There is one two icons missing for app that is installed by default on Antergos Gnome: "Document View", also icon for "Contacts". Please add them and thank you very, very much! This is still the best icon set! I switched from obsidian to delft because icons in nautilus for documents are much simpler and nicer. I would only say I am not fan of some icons from sidebar, like documents icon it is like outlined and other icons are filled and fat but that one is strange in compare to others, downloads icon is nice but also not balanced with others, it looks really filled, pictures icon looks strange (unrecognizable). If you can to work on these that would be awesome! Also whole icon set looks much better on dark theme because of shadow, so I am using dark theme but sometimes I think we need to use light adwaita default theme. You are the best! <3

Hi, I've added the new Document View and Contacts icons (the icon reference has changed in Gnome 3.30 ...once again). And I've replaced some of the obsidian styled sidebar-icons with those from Adwaita. This should bring Delft more closer to the original Faenza. Enjoy!

I really like this icon theme, but I have a problem. When I change the volume, the volume icon appears blurry. Is it just me or is the icon theme like that?

Report

I should mention that it only happens with the 'darkest' variation.

None of the Faenza forks seem to have everything that I want so I ended up just making my own version for my personal use. But feel free to use my app icons which I've been pushing to faience-ng on Github (added compton, mathematica, octave, openrct2, googlehangouts, googleplaymovies, googlekeep, keepassxc, and qtqdbusviewer).

Thank you! Faience-NG looks great! If you need more icons, feel free to take everything you need from Delft or Obsidian :-)

Great job! And because I know you have sooooo much free time on your hands, here are a couple more icons to consider: :)

Chromium, Corebird, Google Earth, Moneydance, Nestopia, Skype, Spotify, VLC, Xsane.

Thanks again for the hard work.

Thanks! :) Most of these icons are already there. If they don't show up on your screen, the .desktop-file of these apps might have a static icon path...

Brilliant! I love this theme and it's direction! Beautiful! If I could suggest something, it would be a Volume Up/Down icon for notifications. I use Xubuntu 17.10 and when using this theme the notification icons for changing volume up or down are missing.
