PRO-Dark-XFCE-Edition
Made by paulxfce
A clear and easy-on-the-eyes theme that is meant for those who use the XFCE/Gnome-desktop professionally on a daily basis. The focus in this theme is compatibility: GTK-2 applications and GTK-3 applications look virtually the same. Libre-office, Scribus, Evolution, Geary, Planner, GnuCash, LaTeXila, Geany, the Gimp, Inkscape,...
Chrome, firefox, Web and Opera have no issues with this theme.
About the looks, you will notice some Elementary-theme, Arc-theme and Gnome-OSX, in a darker version.
This is a XFCE-interpretation of my gnome-theme PRO-Dark-GTK.
IMPORTANT:
There are 3 versions available:
PRO-Dark-XFCE-Edition-I is the older XFCE-D-PRO which works fine with thunar below version 1.8
PRO-Dark-XFCE-Edition-II is the newer up-to-date version that requires Thunar 1.8 or above
PRO-Dark-XFCE-Edition 4.14 is an update to the newer XFCE-DE and GTK 3.22 up until GTK 3.34
How to install:
Download the theme,
Just copy the extracted file to a '.themes'-folder you make in your home directory.
Then use Appearance/ Window-manager to select the Style.
LOG OUT AND BACK IN for changes to take full effect !
The standard XFWM-windowmanager is used as the compositor, With the following specific settings in the Window Manager Tweaks:
- display compositing enabled.
- Synchronize drawing to the vertical blank enabled.
- Show shadows under dock windows enabled.
Opacity of popup windows is set more to the left (more transparency): this gives the translucency under the drop down-menu's. You can move the layer more to the left for more transparency.
Comments
Please comment if you see things broken, or want differently. I will post fixes as soon as possible.

Also with Thunar (file manager), on the title bar, the roll-unroll window sign and the upper left down arrow (window menu) has a white background, not grey.
Note ; Great font selection. Match perfectly the theme.

I'm aware of the whisker-problem (I've tried a live-version of Xubuntu 17.10). But I have not yet got it installed properly. There is unfortunately allot of difference between MX-17 and Xubuntu 17.10.
Do you use the compton file?

No I am not using compton. One more thing, I don't know if it is related but if a select an icon on the desktop, the text underneath become a blurry black.
You are doing a great job thanks. Damned, I can only click once on the score ...

One thing still exist, is that the background on the task bar for the menu button is still black underneath and I can't see "applications" word until I click on it. Then it become the right colours. It should be the same background and text colour as the date which follow your theme. The same with the taskbar background under the sound and network icons (which is probably related). I don't know if you can correct that. Let me know if I can test stuff for you.
It is almost finish. Thanks. After that, I'll spread it around in the proper forums.

Ok now this is a personal taste and you don't have to do it.
1- When I click on a icon on the desktop, the text revert to black and a blue rectangle highlight the text underneath. I would prefer that the text stay white for clarity since the box already highlight the selection. If it loose focus, that's what happen and it's look better then with the black text.
2- If a select an item in Thunar, the background under the text is a darker blue (?) then the blue under the selections on the left grey "places" panel. Can it be the same blue ? The black text will standout better on the lighter blue.
You did a super job. There is not many full Xubuntu 17.10 themes around. It will stand out.

Anyway, not exactly was I was expecting. The theme has change. Thunar middle bar (path rectangle) is now light blue instead of previous grey. Icons highlight is still black on dark blue. However desktop icon selection is now white on blue, very good !
I have return to 1.3 which I prefer.
Thanks
