Please USE directly THE SCREENSHOT picture because the download is the .xcf gimp version
Save the screenshot, rename it as gimp-splash.png and put it in:
a) for the CURRENT user:
- GIMP2.4: put the picture in /home/username/.gimp-2.4/
- GIMP 2.6: put the picture in
/home/username/.gimp-2.6/splashes
b) for ALL users put (as root) the picture in
/usr/share/gimp/2.0/images
