mcOS Mojave theme for Plank Dock
Wear your Dock like macOS Mojave syle.

¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬

macOS Mojave has launched with its new functions and its careful interface; and many of us like that manicured appearance of the apple desktop.
In our Linux environment, most distributions are known to be very customizable, and we can find from GTK and QT themes, icons, Shell themes, to have an identical appearance to the macOS desktop; but a special quality stands out on the macOS desktop, and this is the Dock.

In Linux there are many Docks to choose from, but the one that comes to mind is Plank Dock, which is characterized by its simplicity; everyone in the Linux community knows this excellent piece of software, simple, but customizable; and to make it look like we like, we just have to apply some themes, that's why I created these themes that will give a similar appearance of the Apple operating system Dock.

¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬

But, how to install the Plank Dock?

¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬

> Plank Dock is in the repositories of all most Linux distributions, so you only need to go to the application store of your distribution, such as Ubuntu Store, KDE Neon, Deepin, etc., do a search with the name of the Dock and give click on install.
But for those who like to use the legendary Linux Terminal, you only need to execute some commands; So, open your application menu, find the terminal and type.

- For Ubuntu users and derivatives:
- "sudo apt install plank"

- For Arch Linux and derivatives:
- "sudo pacman -S plank"

- For OpenSuse and derivatives:
- "sudo zypper install plank"

- For Fedora and derivatives:
- "sudo yum install plank"

¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬

Applying the Plank Themes.

¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬

To apply the Plank Dock themes, you just need to download the Plank themes, extract the zip, tar.gz, etc., files and move the extracted files to any of the following paths:

1. For LOCAL Directory:
- Once the file are extracted, press "ctr + h" and the hidden files will be shown, now, move the files to "/.local/share/plank/themes".

2. For ROOT Directory:
- Extract the files and open the terminal, type "sudo nautilus" (or whatever your file manager is in your distro) when nautilus is open, move the files to the next path: "/usr/share/plank/themes"

Now, to apply each theme in Plank Dock, place the cursor on any icon in Plank Dock and press "ctrl + right click", select the preferences and choose the theme of your choice.

¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬

Special thanks.

¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬
I would like to thank the support that you offer with your downloads and your votes, without your support my mcOS Mojave and mcOS Catalina themes would not be first and second in the general Docks section and the respective Plank Dock section.

Keep voting and supporting the entire Pling and OpenDesktop platform.

Hello! You made a nice work! I have a question. How did you make lines in plank? And how did you add application menu in dock?

Hello, thanks.

For the Application Launcher I followed this thread in Stackoverflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/22152190/fedora-plank-app-launcher
But this hack is only for Gnome, I suppose there will be another way for other desktops.

For the color line in Plank Dock, you need to choose the width in: "LineWidth =" from 1 to 9 and change the color in: "OuterStrokeColor =" with RGBA color

Thank you! But I meant the lines as in Mac OS. Lines that share the trash and running applications.

It's not an error, you just need root access, and to open Nautilus with Roor user permissions just open the terminal and type: "sudo nautilus" then enter your password and you will have access to the / usr / share / plank / themes folder.

Another option is to place them in the "home" folder just press "ctrl + h" and the hidden icons will appear, copy the files in the folder ".local / share / plank / themes" and it's dome.

Hi, when you have multiple instances of chrome opened or some other app, you have to right click on that icon so you can choose which instance you want to open. Is it possible that you can make that happen on hovering? or there is already an option for that and i've missed it..?
thank & cheers!

overall great plank +

Sorry, but code doesn't allow it, I tried with "Compiz" on Mate Desktop some time ago, and that show a preview of the opened window; but I don't remember if it show all the instances. So, you can try it.

Hi, I suggest you change the logo and the title name because Apple is copyrights and patent troll and can sue us for everything. What about the name of Plank Mojave and Plank Mojave or Docksierra or Dockojave? What do you think about these names? As for the logo, I prepared the new logo for you. I gift you: https://i.imgur.com/jYDwMBE.png. Put the new title name in this logo, like Plank Mojave, or whatever you want to name.

thanks! and one last question, how did you get the appmenu to work? i've installed it and put it on the applet and logged in and logged out (as the help guide said to do) and it showed some error and so far now ive just decided to put the menu text as the toolbar text from my browser.

Well, I don't know what distro are you using, but in the installation guide of the extension, it say that you have to install appmenu-qt, appmenu-gtk-module, or unity-gtk-module if you're in Ubuntu; so I just follow the guide and work well for me in a Debian based distro.
