How to install (from file manager)

  • Download apple-mac-plymouth.tar.xz file
  • Extract here
  • Open folder apple-mac-plymouth
  • Run install.sh

How to install (from terminal)

  • Download apple-mac-plymouth.tar.xz file
  • Extract here
  • Open folder apple-mac-plymouth
  • Right click (on an empty area)
  • Click open in terminal
  • Type command bellow
  • chmod 777 install.sh
  • sudo ./install.sh
  • Done

Tested on

  • Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
  • Xubuntu 18.04
  • Kubuntu 18.04
  • Linux Mint 19

I installed this, but the image didn't scale properly to my screensize of 1920x1200, so I tried uninstalling using the provided script and selecting option zero, but it didn't uninstall. So then I tried reinstalling plymouth over it, still no good. Suggestions on either how to remove, or how to get it to properly resize?

I'm having the same issue - I don't think it's a scaling problem; when I open the image files they all have the icon all smushed up. Seems like perhaps the wrong edited images were included when releasing
