This theme ticks all the boxes for me. Excellent documentation and easy to configure. Most of all though, I now have a clean looking desktop theme that looks great without being a distraction. Many thanks for your time and effort.

Seconding the call for a good bug tracker we can post screencaps in and stuff. GitLab and GitHub both have good ones built in.

Git can be a bit daunting at first, but I'm sure there'd be plenty of help from folks on here.

well, you guys please continue reporting the bugs here and the screencaps at imgur.com for now until i'll convince myself to plunge into git, and/or directly on the sourceforge page. git will most likely have to wait for the foreseable future

9 Retro, mid/light grey styles that look good with the gnome-colors icon theme in an appropriate color. Thank you for the thought given to future hackability, and the useful preview screenshots!

It comes with a matching Xfwm4 theme with good resize grips and Fitts's Law -compliant upper corners when you maximize the window. The window manager theme suffers from some color errors for stuff newer than Debian 10's Xfwm 4.12 due to its transition into 4.14 and gtk3, but it's generally inoffensive. Can the bottom resize grips be made L-shaped, please?

There are still a few rough edges with the GTK theme where things aren't styled that should be, and some slightly broken defaults with some of the sub-themes. It's more than made up for by the massive degree of configurability, and by a really active maintainer. I'm looking forward to the next release!

I'd love a plank theme that styles like the Xfce panel :)

xfwm4 transitioned to picking up its color from gtk3, and i can't find any documentation on this. the only doc i found related to xfwm4 config (https://wiki.xfce.org/howto/xfwm4_theme) has not been updated to gtk3, so i'm very much in the dark here...

Sorry, to clarify: I just assume it's using the GTK3 style somehow for those colors because the Debian testing of 4.14 package is currently built against gtk3. Here's the changelog for the new release, and it indicates that the project as a whole is heading in that direction: https://xfce.org/download/changelogs/4.14

it IS using gtk3, i changed some colors in the gtk3 widgets.css file and the changes get reflected in xfwm4 windows' colors, but it's NOT documented in the release notes what colors get picked up how. nor did i find anything yet by googling, what a bunch of MORONS...

Hello, thanks for making this! Your work is what persuaded me to make an account here, just to feed back to you.

It's *fantastic* to see some chunky, contrasty, and colorful mid-to-light value themes, and ClassicLooks really delivers when you get to grips with its configuration. It really stands out amongst all the wonky macOS pastiches and "material design" mistakes out there. The designs look good on a daytime work PC in sunlight and at night in a darkened room.

(One quibble: I don't like tabs that don't look like tabs, but thank you for giving us the option of tweaking that)

Couple of glitches under Debian 10's GTK (libgtk-3-0 3.24.5-1):

Nautilus (nautilus 3.36.1.1-1+b1) doesn't have a styled main area, it just gets whatever the normal window "gray" color is, which looks odd. I guess it should look more like Thunar? To fix this, I used

.nautilus-window notebook scrolledwindow {
background-color: @canvas_bg_color;
}

This should probably have some recessed indent too so it looks like the sidebar. I don't know how to style that, sorry.

Also, Eye of GNOME (eog 3.28.4-2+b1) suffers from transparent toolbars in fullscreen mode. I fixed that with

.fullscreen revealer toolbar {
background-color: @bg_color;
}

but it should probably receive the appropriate toolbar styling too.

The following variants have the active/inactive font colors reversed (light=active, dark=inactive instead of dark=active, light=inactive) in the Window Manager: Devilsclaw, Graphite, Greybird, Irix, Rainyday, Raleigh, Redmond, Summerfield, Summerstorm. (I'm using Debian 10+XFCE 4.14 and ClassicLooks v1.5.0)

That's interesting, thanks for checking that out. Could be a XFCE 4.14 glitch since your 4.12 has no problem. Funny that only the theme variants I mentioned are affected here, and only the ClassicLooks/HDPI window manager themes; I switch to different WM themes -- ones installed by default and ones from other themes in home directory, and no problem. Here's a screenshot from my system (Appearance is the active window) https://i.imgur.com/PbloxeJ.png

1) my window manager theme makes heavy use of the color table here https://wiki.xfce.org/howto/xfwm4_theme , most theme managers don't use these so this *might* explain why you only see the problem with my wm theme; however, the weirdest thing is that it doesn't happen with *all* my "sub-themes". i'll look on the net to check if they made any changes to these colors in 4.14
2) also, i noticed another weird thing in your screenshot: there are no scrollbars in your windows, did you make some changes to the themes' code?

Report

Okay thanks. Nope I did not make any changes to any of the themes. There are no scrollbars because they disappear after a few seconds until the window is moused over/moved again, which is by design I think. It doesn't bother me so I never bothered to change it.
