i use them with gnome, i didn't know if they work with kde

Unlike icons and skins and such, cursors are tied to X11, not to KDE or GNOME. So the cursors will work with KDE, GNOME, Xfce, IceWM, and whatever else you want to use.

Not necessarily. When I adapted these cursors to KDE, I had to add a bunch of symlinks to make sure KDE picks up the right cursor, or else it will fall back on the horrid X cursors. See my mod here: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php/Fedora+Mouse+Cursor+themes+with+FULL+KDE?content=53266
