GTK3/4 Themes by trastes 104 comments

You have to think that a beta is a beta, not a final version. Ubuntu 12.04 is BETA
There is no software that supports beta versions, may work better or worse, but something always fails.

I think working with beta versions is an user error. Beta versions are for testing (mainly developers) and can not be expected to function as a final version.

I can not fix that.
That has to be solved in any update of ubuntu 12.04

By rule out some things:

- What distro do you use?
- In GTK2, Murrine and Pixmap engines are correctly installed?
- Other GTK2 apps show well the radiobuttons and checkboxes?
- The theme is installed in "/usr/share/themes" or in "/home/PersonalFolder/.themes" ?

Apparently not a problem of the theme, I suggest
In textStudio:
Menu Options -> Configure textStudio ...
In section: General
Appearance
Style: GTK+
Color Scheme: Classic

and UNCHECK "Ignore most system colors", otherwise, textStudio not take the system default colors

Respect to firefox (v10.0.2), I tested it in openSuse 12.1, Ubuntu 11.10, Fedora 16 and tooltips display correctly, white text on black background (that's the way it is set) - Mar 12 2012

What happens is that chrome is not configured to use the gtk theme.

go preferences, select tab personal, in the section to change theme, there are two buttons
- One to select classic theme (blue)
- Another to select/use gtk theme

choose to use gtk theme.

Otherwise, chrome uses the default theme blue - Mar 10 2012

for now the theme is not compatible with ubuntu 12.04, the theme will work on Ubuntu sometime in April.
there are some syntax changes that will slow down a little the work

In the post I see no reference to the authorship of the themes.

On the other hand, if you would have contacted me, I would have been delighted to help keep the updated package, for me the game is over, I do not want to keep discussing the obvious

Enjoy it

http://www.glatelier.org/2011/10/tip-desactiva-el-overlay-scrollbar-en-ubuntu/

http://www.ubuntizando.com/2011/11/02/truco-desactivar-las-overlay-scrollbars-en-unity/

While I find a definitive solution can do this

edit the file (L or SL) ... / Adwaita Cupertino L/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

on the line about 501-534 (depending on L and SL)
modify the following 3 lines

style "scrollbar" {
.....
....
trough_shades = {1.3, 1.3}
border_shades = {2.0, 2.0}
contrast = 0.0

I tried that from the beginning, but can not be done.

The dividing line between the sidebar and icon view reaches the titlebar, and if you remove that line, is very ugly for my taste.
There is an unnatural way to get a similar effect, but does not convince me.

I can make that change in a few days for you to try, now I have more knowledge than when I tried the first time and with a little luck maybe looks good

Moreover, I read something about going to modify the design of nautilus in gnome 3.4, I do not know if this is true, but perhaps it would be best to wait - Feb 10 2012
